Every person has a value system on which he or she bases his or her life. All decisions are made based on these values. Sometimes we don't even realize it, but if a person's top priority is relationships, they will put all of their resources, financial and time, into building them.
The easiest way to determine what is a priority for you is to look at what your money and time is spent on the most.
Paul says in his letter to the Ephesians that we are to build our entire lives on the foundation called Jesus Christ:
"having been established on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, having Jesus Christ Himself as the cornerstone, on which the whole building, being built up in order, grows into a holy temple in the Lord."
(Ephesians 2:20-21)
What does this mean?
Does it mean that we should spend all of our money on the Church? Or devote all of our time to her alone?
I think what these words mean is this: if you want to build your life on Jesus Christ, your relationship with Him must be a priority. This means that there should be time in your day when you read His messages (Bible), when you talk to Him and share your worries (prayer), and before you make decisions, you go to Him and ask Him what to do.
If you have all of these things in your life, you are building it on a solid foundation that will never break. Because Jesus Christ lives forever and there is no power that can shake Him.
Beautiful truth.
