Do not be afraid, My son.
This is how God speaks to His children when darkness falls. It is not just a comfort - it is a command. Do not be afraid!
I used to think that not being afraid meant being strong. But now I realize that we are not afraid because He is near. God always comes in the moment of fear and says:
"I am with you" (Gen 26:24).
These are the words He spoke to Isaac when he was in exile. And this is not an isolated incident - this is what God says over and over throughout the Bible.
He doesn't just call for fearlessness - He guarantees His protection.
That's why David writes:
"Even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death - I will fear no evil, because You are with me..." (Ps 22:4).
When God is with you, fear loses power. David could sleep soundly on the run because his peace was not in his circumstances, but in God.
And that's how I want to live my life.
Not to be afraid - because I trust in God. Not to be afraid - because He has conquered death.
Wherever I go, He is with me. He keeps me under His wing. He is faithful. He fulfills everything He has promised.
And you can say that to your heart:
I don't need to be afraid. My God is with me. Trusting in Him is my shield and my freedom.
