Act worthy of the title.
"I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling to which you have been called."
- Ephesians 4:1
Every society has its own invisible but tangible rules. Manners, speech, even posture all speak of belonging.
Think of Martin Eden. A simple sailor who happens to find himself in a high society drawing room, where behind every cutlery is a set of unwritten rules. He feels like an outsider, but love and admiration make him change, absorb, learn. In time - not just to adapt, but to transform.
The apostle Paul speaks of something greater.
We who were once strangers to God have been invited to His table. Not by merit, but by grace. We are not just guests - we are now family. Christ has given us a new name, a new nature, a new dignity.
But the title is binding. It requires an inner conformity.
If we are children of the King, then our life should be royal: in character, in words, in deeds. Not ostentatious piety, but true transformation.
Act with dignity. Not for the opinion of others, but out of reverence for the One who called you.
Remember whose seal you bear. And let every day of your life be a tribute to this title.
